Whitstable Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice
I offer confidential and discreet therapeutic services, to meet the needs of individuals and those experiencing PTSD (post traumatic stress).I also provide clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists, reflective practice groups, and organisational Managers to help facilitate change and support staff groups.
My name is Deborah Gibbons and I have been working as a therapist since 1991. I have always been drawn to helping people help themselves. I initially qualified as a counsellor and went on to train as a psychotherapist and supervisor. I have worked for the NHS and as a tutor for trainee therapists at the Universities of Kent and Goldsmiths.
I have a Masters degree in psychotherapy and work with the UKCP and BACP Code of Ethics. I am also an EMDR practicitioner.
During the sessions I will help you explore your issues and understand how they have come about. We will then begin to think about what you want to change and I will help you come up with strategies to move forward. These could be anxiety, depression, fear of making mistakes, anger, OCD, post traumatic stress or eating disorders, to name but a few. Sometimes I combine different therapeutic models to help you uncover the reasons why you struggle in a certain way and help you bring about change and have a more fulfilled life.
Therapy for Individuals include: counselling, psychotherapy, group therapy, EMDR for post traumatic stress, therapeutic support for those in the early stages of dementia, cancer or other life threatening diseases and bereavement counselling.
All therapy sessions are confidential.
